A goal by Tommy Wright in the 7th off 11 minutes added on in the second half gave Winchester a 1-1 draw against Salisbury. Wright had only been on the field foe the 80th minute as a replacement for Warren Bentley.
For this match which both teams went into the match having won their previous match over the weekend Winchester made four changes from the previous weekend with Jamie Barron, Simba Mlambo, Jordan Rose and Trevor Caborn dropping to the substitutes bench and Warren Bentley, Ollie Balmer, I K Hill and Ollie Griggs coming in with Griggs making his first appearance of the season. They fell behind in the 7th minute wit a good run from the halfway line with a left foot shot from the edge of the area. Winchester struggled to get into the game in the first 15 minutes, with Conor Lynch having an effort well saved by the opposition goalkeeper after good work by Balmer and Bentley, Lynch just failing to get a decisive touch to a free kick from Balmer and I K Hill shooting narrowly wide.
IN the second half Salisbury's Aaron Simpson and Aaron McCreadie shot narrowly wide, but the second half was very much Winchester's and I K Hill had an effort blocked on the line, Dan Jones heading on to the roof of the net from an Ollie Balmer cross, Jones forcing a further save from Josh Gould, Mlambo also shooting on to the roof of the net and Balmer also forcing a save from Gould., Wright heading over before the dramatic finale with Gould only able to parry an effort from Archie Willcox into the path of Wright who makes no mistake.
In the second half besides Wright, Mlambo and Trevor Caborn replaced Lynch and I K Hill.
The match was seen by a crowd of over 500 and saw Winchester obtain their home point of the season after the frustration of seeing their match against Walton and Hersham abandoned and it was a very good second half performance.
